California Medical Protocol for the Examination of Sexual Assault and Child Sexual Abuse Victims
The California Medical Protocol for Examination of Sexual Assualt and Child Sexual Abuse Victims and forensic medical report forms have been revised to reflect current knowledge and developments in the field. This work was performed by a multidisciplinary group of sexual assault and child sexual abuse medical forensic experts, criminalists, law enforcement officers, prosecutors and victim advocates. The OCJP 923 and OCJP 925 have been updated. The OCJP 930 has been added for acute child sexual abuse exams and the OCJP 950 for suspect exams.

California Medical Training Center
The CMTC is funded by the State Office of Criminal Justice Planning to train physicians, mid-level practitioners (nurse practitioners and physician assistants), and nurses on how to perform quality medical forensic exams for victims of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, and elder/dependent adult abuse. Training is also provided to law enforcement officers and investigative social workers on the interpretation of findings. Click Here >

Office of Criminal Justice Planning
As part of the Governor’s Office, OCJP is the designated agency in California to fund efforts and develop policies to:

  • effectively investigate and prosecute crime
  • promote protection and needed services for crime victims
  • prevent crime
